What a wonderful day way back in February this was! This was the last big wedding I shot before lockdowns, social-distancing and face masks were a thing… I am so happy it was such a brilliant wedding to temporarily sign-off on. The venue, the people and the atmosphere made for such a great day. I knew Kirsty before the day as she was my mentor as a trainee teacher several years back! I was humbled I got a place setting at the wedding breakfast. Thank you Kirsty and Rich for this.
Kirsty got ready at the wonderful Bickley Mill and had several rooms booked for her closest friends, bridesmaids and family. Rich and his best mates arrived slightly early and had time to enjoy a beer in the bar and settle any nerves before the I do’s. The ceremony took place inside and the guests enjoyed the music, atmosphere and emotion. Dried flower petals lined the aisle. After the ceremony, the guests went through to the cosy bar at Bickley Mill for drinks and we had a short time for group photographs. The rain came and went throughout the day but this did not dampen spirits in any way.
Due to rain dodging we pushed bride and groom portraits back to later in the evening. In the meantime, everybody hit the dance floor hard! Great day!
[For photographers: I used two Nikon D750’s with a 35mm and 85mm attached almost all day. For the dancing, I used a single Nikon D750 with a 24-120 lens and a SB900 flash attached to bounce].
