This was my first time photographing a wedding at Powderham Castle and I could not have enjoyed it more. Powderham Castle is nestled amidst breathtaking Devon landscapes and it's a backdrop that sets the stage for a truly unforgettable wedding.

Melissa and Chris absolutely nailed EVERYTHING! This was such a special day to photograph. The formula of ‘beautiful venue’ + ‘laid back couple’ + brilliant suppliers and venue staff = magic! continues to be true.

The castle, surrounded by lush grounds and overlooking the River Exe, holds centuries of tradition. You can feel this as you walk towards the castle and under the stone archways. It is surrounded by nature. I looked out of the window several times to see fields full of deer wondering around. Perfect. What sets Powderham apart is its ability to embrace its rich history without a hint of pretentiousness.

For photographers, Powderham Castle is a dream come true. The architecture, such as the tall towers and ornate gardens, offer an array of stunning backdrops for capturing timeless moments. The castle's expansive grounds provide endless opportunities for both intimate and more grand and large scale shots. From the charming courtyards to the sprawling lawns, each corner of Powderham Castle tells a story of its own.

What sets Powderham Castle apart is its ability to make every couple feel like royalty without the imposing grandeur often associated with historic venues. The welcoming ambiance and the genuine warmth of the staff contribute to an atmosphere where everyone can relax and enjoy themselves. This was certainly the case during this brilliant wedding.

I am fortunate now call myself a ‘recommended supplier’ at Powderham Castle and am extremely proud to say it. I am looking forward to shooting another wedding there soon!
